MATTHEW 15:36 “And he took the seven loaves and the fish, gave thanks, broke them, and gave them to the disciples, and the disciples to the crowds”.
WHAT IS THIS VERSE ABOUT? This verse is part of the story of the second miraculous feeding of a large group of people. This time, four thousand people. The people were exhausted, and the disciples had only seven loaves of bread and a few fish. But Jesus takes the scarce amount they have, gives thanks to God, and through this a miracle occurs: there is enough food for everyone, and even more is left over. WHAT DOES GOD WANT TO SAY THROUGH THIS VERSE? 1. Gratitude opens a way to miracles. Jesus does not complain about the lack, but gives thanks for what he has. It is with gratitude that multiplication begins. A grateful heart sees opportunities where others see scarcity. 2. God uses small things to do great things. Seven loaves of bread and a few fish are almost nothing for four thousand people. But in God's hands, it is enough. Your "littleness" is no obstacle to God if you give Him your all. 3. Jesus is the source of everything, not quantity. The disciples looked at the scarcity of bread, but Jesus looked at the Father's abundance. He did not depend on quantity, He depended on Heaven. This verse reminds us: it is not how much you have that matters, but Whose hands hold it. When you offer your "little" to God, it becomes part of a greater plan. It is not quantity that determines the outcome, but faith, humility, and gratitude. WHY IS IT IMPORTANT? We often put off action, thinking, "I’ve got too little". We underestimate the power of gratitude and God's might. We forget that in Jesus’ hands, even the most unimportant things become significant. This verse teaches us to trust God not after, but before a miracle. HOW TO USE IT TODAY 1. Tell Jesus honestly that you are in difficulty. Simply in your own words, as if to a friend: “Jesus, I'm in difficulty. Show me where to go and what to do”. Even if you are not used to praying, it is already a step on the path He speaks of. 2. Seek the truth, not just what sounds good. Every day we are overwhelmed with opinions, advice, and motivation. Try asking yourself one question: “Does this really help me live better, or does it just fill the emptiness?” Truth always leads to inner peace, not chaos. 3. Try to get through the day relying on more than just yourself. When fear, anxiety, or uncertainty arise, say briefly, “Jesus, give me strength. Lead me”. You will be surprised, but this is exactly how inner support and calmness come. CONCLUSION A miracle begins with gratitude for what you have. Jesus did not look for perfect conditions – He took what little there was, blessed it, and gave it away. God does not expect much from you—He needs your heart, ready to trust, give, and be grateful. FINAL THOCUGHT In God's hands, even crumbs can become a feast. Don't be afraid to give Him the little you have – no matter if it is time, strength, faith, or resources. And remember: gratitude is not a reaction to abundance, but a path to it. PRAYER Lord, You are the One who multiplies the little. I bring You all I have, even if it seems insufficient. Teach me not to cling to it, but to trust You. Make me a conduit for Your care for others, even when I myself feel lacking. You are the Source, not me. Make my heart open, my hands generous, and my faith firm. Thank You that Your miracles happen where there is gratitude, faith, and humility. Amen.
