WHAT IS THIS VERSE ABOUT? This verse is about restoring the relationship with God. It shows that the distance between man and God is not accidental and can be shortened. WHAT DOES GOD WANT TO SAY THROUGH THIS VERSE? 1. “COME NEAR TO GOD” This is not about a physical action. It is about an internal step: when a person consciously turns to God in repentance, stops living as if He does not exist, and begins to seek Him. The initiative begins with the person. 2. “AND HE WILL COME NEAR TO YOU” God is not distant. The point is that when a person takes a step toward God, God responds. This is not a one-way process — it is a movement toward Him. 3. “WASH YOUR HANDS” Hands in the Bible are a way of acting. It is about stopping doing what is wrong, reconsidering your actions, and making your life free from what distances you from God. 4. “PURIFY YOUR HEARTS” The heart is an internal state. You can change something externally, but remain the same internally. This is about something deeper: motives, thoughts, and inner direction. 5. “DOUBLE-MINDED” This is a very precise word. This is a person who lives in two ways: they want to be with God, but at the same time they cling to their old life. WHY IS IT IMPORTANT? Many people think that God is distant or inaccessible. But this verse shows that the problem is not the distance, but the person's choice and desire to be with God. HOW TO USE IT TODAY 1. Honestly ask yourself: where am I now in relation to God? 2. Take an internal step – turn to Him in repentance. 3. Make your life free from what leads away from the truth and contradicts it. 4. Stop living “in two ways” and choose one direction. CONCLUSION God is not far from man. But getting closer requires a decision and change on the person's part. FINAL THOUGHT The distance between man and God is not a matter of kilometers, but of choice. And one step forward can change everything.
