FAITH

2 CORINTHIANS 4:18
“…What is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal”.

WHAT IS THIS VERSE ABOUT?
The Apostle Paul tells us about two realities – earthly and heavenly. Everything we see around us: difficulties, successes, things, pain, earthly life – all of this is temporary. But there is what the eyes cannot see – God, soul, faith, love, eternity. Exactly this is what is real, eternal. This verse helps us not to get lost in the storm of circumstances and to remember: life is not only what we can touch with our hands.
WHAT DOES GOD WANT TO SAY THROUGH THIS VERSE?
1. Do not cling to the temporary.
Money, status, pain, fame, projects, fashion – all of these things pass. God reminds us: “Do not build your life on what disappears”.
2. Learn to see with the eyes of faith.
There is a world which your eyes cannot see, but which your heart feels. When you seek God, you begin to see deeper – not just events and things, but the meaning behind them.
3. Remember eternity.
Everything earthly will end one day, but what is born in one’s soul – love, faith, mercy – will remain forever.
WHY IS IT IMPORTANT?
Because we often live in a rush, worrying about insignificant things, chasing what will soon disappear. God wants to give us a different kind of vision – an inner one. He calls us to stop looking only with the eyes of the body and start seeing with the eyes of the spirit. When you begin to live not for the temporary, but for the eternal, your vision of life changes: peace, stability, and the right priorities appear.
CONCLUSION
Everything visible is temporary, like a shadow. But behind it lies an eternal light that never fades. God wants us to learn to look not simply at circumstances, but through them – to Him, to the eternal Truth.
FINAL THOUGHT
The eyes see what is temporary. The heart sees what is eternal. When you begin to look at life through faith, fear goes away, because you know: all difficulties will pass, but God will remains and there is eternity ahead.
HOW TO USE IT TODAY
• When you face difficulties, remind yourself: “This will not last forever”.
• Teach your heart to see the value of the invisible – love, kindness, prayer, trust in God.
• Stop judging life only by what can be measured or bought.
The most important thing is not what you see with your eyes, but what you feel with your soul.
PRAYER
Lord, help me not to become attached to what disappears. Teach me to see not only with my eyes, but with my heart. When I become lost in my worries, remind me that all that is temporary will pass, but You are eternal, and in You lie my hope, my support, and the solution to all my problems. Let my gaze be fixed not on what is visible and temporary, but on You, the source of life and Truth. Let me live with an awareness of eternity,
so that each day brings me closer to You. Amen.
