WISDOM

JOHN 3:3
“Jesus replied, ‘No one can see the kingdom of God unless they are born again’”.

WHAT IS THIS VERSE ABOUT?
Jesus addresses Nicodemus, a religious leader, an educated and outwardly righteous man. But Christ demonstrates that human knowledge, traditions, rituals, and even good deeds are not enough to enter the Kingdom of God. One must be “born again” – experience a spiritual birth from God – one must begin to live anew, not physically, but internally – with one's heart and soul.
WHAT DOES GOD WANT TO SAY THROUGH THIS VERSE?
1. It is not enough to simply be born once.
We were all born from our parents, but that birth only gave us earthly life. To be with God, a new birth – a spiritual one – is necessary.
2. “To be born again” means to start all over again with God.
It is not a slight improvement of one’s soul (“I've become better since Monday”), but as if you have been given a new life. You become a different person: with new desires, with a new heart which pursues goodness and God and turns away from sin.
3. This is God’s action, not a human effort.
You cannot “reborn” yourself. This is done by the Spirit of God when a person believes in Jesus and entrusts his or her life to Him.
HOW TO USE IT TODAY
- Imagine that your soul is a house. An old house with cracks and dust cannot simply be slightly painted. It needs to be rebuilt and cleaned. That is what God does when we open our hearts to Him and want to change.
- If you feel that you live with emptiness inside, see no meaning, do not know what you live for – that is exactly God's call. He offers you a new beginning.
- Everything starts with a simple step – telling God: “Lord, I want a new life. Teach me to believe, help me change, give me a new heart”.
CONCLUSION
Jesus shows that without the new birth, a person remains captive to their habits, sins, and emptiness. We can change the external – our job, our environment, even our habits and lifestyle; but inside, we remain the same person. Only God can grant true renewal of one’s heart. Being born again is not “becoming better or starting over on Monday”, but “becoming new” – new at one’s core, with a new heart and a new mindset.
FINAL THOUGHT
Each of us knows the feeling when we want to start over – from scratch, without mistakes, without the pain of the past. Christ truly gives that. New birth is an invitation from God not just to “fix” your life, but to completely rewrite it, this time with His hand. And when you agree to this, you begin to see the world, yourself, and God with new eyes.
PRAYER
Lord, I acknowledge that without You I cannot truly change.
My old life is dragging me down, and I need Your new beginning so much.
I ask You to let me be born again. Erase my past, wash me with Your truth, give me a new heart which will crave You.
Let my life belong to You, and let Your Spirit live within me, not my own presumption.
Teach me to be a new person. Amen.
