PROVERBS 18:10
“The Name of the Lord is a fortified tower; the righteous run to it and are safe”.

WHAT IS THIS VERSE ABOUT?
This verse speaks of where true human security lies. Solomon uses the image of a fortified tower – a place of refuge, where people found shelter during the times of danger, war, or attack.
But here, the tower is not walls or weapons. The tower is the Name of the Lord. The Name, in the biblical sense, is the essence, character, and nature of God: who He is and what He is like.
WHAT DOES GOD WANT TO SAY THROUGH THIS VERSE?
1. True security lies not in circumstances, money, or people, but in God.
2. The name of the Lord is the source of protection, strength, and refuge for the believer.
3. The righteous people do not rely on themselves, but run to God when danger arises.
WHY IS IT IMPORTANT?
When fear, anxiety, or pressure arise, a person instinctively seeks refuge:
in control, in people, in resources, in plans. But all of this can fail. Only God remains a constant support.
HOW TO USE IT TODAY
• At the moments of fear, turn first to God, not to panic.
• Remind yourself who God is: Protector, Father, Refuge. He controls everything.
• Proclaim the Lord's name in prayer and trust.
• Learn to “run” toward God, not away from Him.
CONCLUSION
He who seeks protection in God finds what no earthly “shield” can provide.
FINAL THOUGHT
Security is not the absence of threats, but closeness to God amid them.
PRAYER
Lord, I thank You for leaving words of comfort and faith in Your Word. You are my fortified tower and my refuge. When fear and uncertainty come, teach me to run to You and not seek protection in human supports and resources. Give my heart peace and confidence in You. Let Your name be my strength and my security. Protect me from evil and darkness. Amen.
