ISAIAH 65:17
“For behold, I create new heavens and a new earth, and the former things shall not be remembered or come into mind”.

WHAT IS THIS VERSE ABOUT?
God speaks of the future He has prepared for His people: a new heaven and a new earth – a renewed world without pain, sin, or evil. This is not just a poetic image. It is a promise: one day, God will renew all His creation, and everything old – pain, wounds, injustice, tears – will disappear forever. So powerfully that even the memories of the old will no longer torment people. This is a verse of hope, restoration, and God's final victory over evil.
WHAT DOES GOD WANT TO SAY THROUGH THIS VERSE?
1. God has prepared a future which is much better than the present.
This world is spoilt by sin, cruelty, disease, and war. But God promises: this will not last forever.
The final chapter of the story is not darkness, but light. Not chaos, but renewal.
2. God is capable of renewing not only the world, but also your life.
What God does with His creation, He also does with the heart. He is capable of creating a “new heavens and a new earth” within a person: new thoughts, new desires, a new life. Not patching up the old, but creating something new.
3. God can heal so deeply that the pain of the past will no longer hurt. “The former things shall not come into mind” is not about forgetfulness, it is about healing. God knows how to heal in such a way that what used to break a person no longer has power.
WHY IS IT IMPORTANT?
Because most people live either in the past, which holds them back, or in the present, which puts pressure on them, or in the future, which frightens them. This verse says: you have a hope that is stronger than all circumstances. God holds the future in His hand. He is the One who creates new things, not just fixes the old.
CONCLUSION
God is the One Who is capable of creating something new: new life, new hope, a new beginning. His ultimate plan is not destruction, but renewal. Not an end, but a new story. And if He promised a new heaven and a new earth, then He is capable of creating something “new” in your heart, too.
FINAL THOUGHT
God's hope is not a dream or a consolation for those who are weak. It is a reality to which He leads those who trust in Him. God is creating something new and will one day destroy everything that causes pain. You can live today with this light and faith in your heart.
HOW TO USE IT TODAY
• Tell God honestly what in your life needs “something new”.
• Stop holding on to the past that hurts, and trust Him to heal.
• On difficult days, remind yourself: “My story is in the hands of the One who creates new things”.
• Give hope to others, even with a short word, that God renews life.
PRAYER
Lord, You are the God Who creates new things. Thank you for these words of encouragement and hope You left behind. Create something new in my life, too: where there is pain, let healing come; where there is emptiness, let light come; where there is fear, let hope and faith come.
Cleanse my heart from the past that holds me back and destroys me, and fill it with the future You have prepared. Grant me unwavering faith. Amen.
