HUMILITY

PROVERBS 16:19
“Better to be humble in spirit along with the lowly than to share plunder with the proud”.

WHAT IS THIS VERSE ABOUT?
This verse is about choosing a path and one's inner state. It says that it is better to be among humble people, even without external profit, than to be among the proud and achieve success.
WHAT DOES GOD WANT TO SAY THROUGH THIS VERSE?
1. “TO BE HUMBLE IN SPIRIT”
Humility is not weakness or low self-esteem.
It is an inner state in which a person does not put themselves in the center, does not exalt themselves above others, and, most importantly, recognizes their dependence on God and does not rely solely on their own strength.
This is the right position of the heart before God.
2. “ALONG WITH THE LOWLY”
The lowly are not weak people, but those who do not live with aggression, do not prove their worth through pressure, and do not step over others. These are people who have inner peace, calm, and trust in God.
3. “SHARE PLUNDER WITH THE PROUD”
This is a way of life where there are results, benefits, and success, but all of this is achieved through pride, self-confidence, and self-reliance. And even if it looks like victory on the outside, it is a downfall on the inside.
4. COMPARISON OF THE TWO PATHS
One path provides external benefits, success, and quick results, but is based on pride.
The other path may not produce quick results, but it is based on humility and a proper relationship with God. God says the second path is better.
WHY IS IT IMPORTANT?
People often choose what produces results faster and more noticeably, forgetting about eternity. But this verse shows that it is not the result that is more important, but the foundation on which life is built.
HOW TO USE IT TODAY
1. Ask yourself: what am I relying on — myself or God?
2. Consider whether your path is built on pride and self-sufficiency.
3. Choose humility even when it does not produce immediate results.
4. Pay attention to your environment and its influence.
CONCLUSION
It is better to walk along the path of humility before God than to seek temporary gain by relying on pride and self-sufficiency.
FINAL THOUGHT
Not everything that looks like success leads to life. Sometimes the most correct path is not the one with the greatest profit, but the one with the right heart before God.
PRAYER
Lord, teach me humility not only before other people, but first of all before You.
Help me not to rely only on myself, but to trust You and follow the path of truth. Protect my heart from pride and give me a humble and meek heart. Amen.
