LUKE 10:19 “I have given you authority to trample on snakes and scorpions and to overcome all the power of the enemy; nothing will harm you”.
WHAT IS THIS VERSE ABOUT? Jesus speaks of the spiritual authority He gives to everyone who believes in Him and follows Him. The “snakes and scorpions” here are symbols of the devil, sin, temptation, and all the forces of evil and darkness that seek to destroy man. Christ promises: with Him, we are not defenceless – we have the power to conquer evil. WHAT DOES GOD WANT TO SAY THROUGH THIS VERSE? 1. A disciple of Christ is not powerless. Life is full of temptations, fears, and attacks from the enemy, but God gives us the power and strength to stand against them. 2. Victory comes not from us, but from Jesus. We do not fight with our own strength. This authority is His gift, His protection, His strength. 3. God guarantees the safety of the soul. Evil may attack, but it cannot break or conquer the soul of one who clings to Christ. WHY IS IT IMPORTANT? Many people live in fear and constant attacks. But Jesus speaks clearly: those who are with Him are not victims in the spiritual world, but conquerors. HOW TO USE IT TODAY • When fear, attack, or temptation come, remind yourself out loud of this verse: “Jesus has given me authority”. • Do not agree with the enemy's lies, which he often sends through the thoughts and words of others – replace them with God's truth. • Pray; in prayer there is power. CONCLUSION Jesus not only saves us from sin, but also gives us the power to live freely, without fear of darkness. If we stand on His Word, nothing can permanently harm us. FINAL THOUGHT Christ is our strength and protection in everything. With Him, we are not those who are defeated, but those who win. PRAYER Lord Jesus, thank you for giving me the power and strength to stand against evil. Help me not to fear, but to trust You in everything. Give me the courage to trample on fears, sin, and doubts, knowing that You are with me. Fill me with Your peace and make my life a testimony that only in You is there victory and strength over evil. Amen.
