JOHN 6:35 “Jesus declares, ‘I am the bread of life. Whoever comes to Me will never go hungry, and whoever believes in Me will never be thirsty’”.
WHAT IS THIS VERSE ABOUT? Jesus speaks of the deepest human need – an inner hunger and thirst. This is not about physical food and water, but about what a person lacks inside: meaning, love, acceptance, peace, hope. He says, “I do not just give bread. I am the bread of life”. That is, not something from Him, but He Himself – the source of life that truly nourishes the soul. WHAT DOES GOD WANT TO SAY THROUGH THIS VERSE? 1. A person has a spiritual hunger. Even when everything is outwardly present – work, family, success – there can be emptiness inside. This verse says honestly: man is created in such a way that without God he will always feel “hunger and thirst”. 2. Nothing earthly can satisfy the soul forever. People try to satisfy this hunger with: • money • relationships • recognition • pleasures But all this only provides a temporary feeling of fullness – and then emptiness returns. Jesus says, “This is not the bread”. 3. Jesus is the only source of true satisfaction. When He says, “He who comes to Me” and “He who believes in Me”, He is speaking of trust, intimacy, relationships. Not of religion, but of a living connection. Where Christ is, there come peace, meaning, and an inner fullness that never disappears. WHY IS IT IMPORTANT? Because most people live with the feeling, “I'm missing something... but I don't know what exactly”. This verse answers directly: you are missing the One for Whom you were created. And as long as a person seeks satisfaction at the wrong places, they will continue to feel thirsty. HOW TO USE IT TODAY 1. Admit your inner hunger. Do not run away from it, do not suppress it, but honestly say, “Yes, I lack peace, meaning, joy”. 2. Stop expecting the world to give what only God can give. Let go of the expectation that money, a career, people, or circumstances will fill the void. 3. Come to Christ as you are. Without masks, without the right words. Simply with the thirst of your heart. He said, “Whoever comes to Me will never go hungry” – not the “perfect”, but the one who comes. CONCLUSION A person can be outwardly successful and yet internally empty. Jesus offers not temporary comfort, but a fullness of life that begins inside and never ends. FINAL THOUGHT The soul is not satisfied with things. It is satisfied with a Personality. And this Personality is Christ. PRAYER Lord Jesus, I come to You with what is within me – with thirst, with questions, with emptiness. If You are the bread of life, fill me. Give me the peace and the fullness which I find nowhere else. I want to trust You and learn what it means to live not in emptiness, but in You. Amen.
