HUMILITY

JOHN 13:20
“Very truly I tell you, whoever accepts anyone I send accepts Me; and whoever accepts Me accepts the One Who sent Me”.

WHAT IS THIS VERSE ABOUT?
This continues the scene from the Last Supper before the crucifixion.
Jesus has just washed the disciples' feet – demonstrating love through service – and now speaks of acceptance. He explains that the way He treats those He sends is, in fact, the way He treats Himself.
WHAT DOES GOD WANT TO SAY THROUGH THIS VERSE?
Jesus expresses a profound yet simple thought: God works through people.
“Whoever accepts anyone I send” refers to people who bring truth, goodness, and God's word.
“Accepts Me” – that is, God comes into a person's life through these people. And then it goes even deeper: to accept Jesus means to accept God Himself.
WHY IS IT IMPORTANT?
Many people expect God to manifest in some supernatural way: powerfully, clearly, directly.
But God often acts through:
— people
— words
— simple meetings
— conversations
And a person may not notice
that God is speaking to them through these.
HOW TO USE IT TODAY
• Be attentive to whom through and how the truth comes into your life.
• Do not immediately reject anything that makes you think about God.
• Ask yourself: am I open to God or closed?
• Learn to see the deeper meaning behind people's words.
• If you already know God, be the one through whom He can speak to other people.
CONCLUSION
Our attitude toward the truth and those who bring it reveals our attitude toward God.
FINAL THOUGHT
God does not always come loudly. Sometimes, He comes quietly – through people. And the question is not whether God speaks, but whether a person is ready to hear and accept.
PRAYER
Lord, open my heart so that I can hear You. Help me not to miss Your voice
when You speak through people and circumstances. Teach me to accept the truth and follow You. Amen.
