HUMILITY

JOHN 3:30
“He must become greater; I must become less”.

WHAT IS THIS VERSE ABOUT?
These are the words of John the Baptist when people began to compare him to Jesus.
He could have held on to his influence, and he had much of it, but he says the opposite: Christ must become the most important, not me.
WHAT DOES GOD WANT TO SAY THROUGH THIS VERSE?
1. The center of life must shift. People, by their nature, put themselves at the center: their desires, plans, opinions. But God says: real life begins when the center is not you, but Christ.
2. “Become greater” is about Christ's influence in life. This means:
— His truth becomes more important;
— His perspective begins to shape decisions;
— His place in the heart increases.
3. “Become less” is not about humiliation. It does not mean becoming “worse” or “nothing”. It means stopping living as if everything revolves around you.
4. It is a process, not a single solution. It does not happen overnight. It is a path: gradually giving God control of your life.
WHY IS IT IMPORTANT?
When a person puts themselves at the center, they face pressure, fear, and constant struggle. Because everything depends on them. When God is at the center, order and inner peace appear.
HOW TO USE IT TODAY
1. Notice where you put yourself first.
2. Learn to consider God's perspective in your decisions.
3. Stop trying to control everything yourself.
4. Give God more space in your daily life.
CONCLUSION
Real life begins when Christ becomes the center.
FINAL THOUGHT
The more a person clings to themselves, the harder it is to live.
But when they let go of the center and give it to God, life changes dramatically.
PRAYER
Lord, forgive me for my pride and desire to always be at the center and prove I am right.
Help me not to put myself at the center of my life and teach me to always put You first and trust You with my decisions. Let there be more of You in my life, not me. Teach me Your humility and meekness. Amen.
