HUMILITY

JEREMIAH 15:19
“If you utter what is precious, and not what is worthless, you shall be as My mouth”.

WHAT IS THIS VERSE ABOUT?
God says these words to the prophet Jeremiah in a difficult moment. Jeremiah is tired, he feels pain, misunderstanding, and despair. People do not listen to him, even though he is telling them the truth.
And God responds not with reproach, but with a challenge: “If you learn to utter the precious from the worthless, you shall be like My mouth."
These are not just beautiful words. This is a path.
God says: learn to see what is valuable where others see emptiness; find goodness in the midst of evil; faith in the midst of doubt; meaning in the midst of pain. Then you will become like Me, because I am the God who does exactly that.
WHAT DOES GOD WANT TO SAY THROUGH THIS VERSE?
1. God teaches us to see deeper than the outer layer.
In every person, in every situation, even the darkest and most difficult, there is something precious. Sometimes it is difficult to see and understand, but it is exactly this kind of vision that distinguishes God's heart from man's.
2. He calls us not to condemnation and grumbling, but to discernment.
“To utter” does not mean to reject everything, but to separate the valuable from the worthless.
We must not confuse purity with indifference. God does not ask us to love sin; He teaches us to see value even where everything is confused.
3. This is the path of inner transformation and growth.
To learn to see what is “precious”, we must allow God to do the same within us – to purify our hearts so that words of life, not irritation or condemnation, flow out of them.
WHY IS IT IMPORTANT?
Because the world today is filled with vain things – resentment, condemnation, envy, anger, deception, and evil. But if we learn to see through God's eyes, we can bring light to the darkness, rather than simply complain about the darkness.
This verse is about the ability to not lose heart sight, to see God's footprint even where He seems to be absent.
CONCLUSION
God calls us not simply to be “believers”, but to be His voice – a mouth through which kindness, love, forgiveness, peace, and mercy resound. But to speak on His behalf, one must learn to see as He sees: to discern the true from the false, the valuable from the vain, light from darkness.
And when this happens, one becomes not just a hearer of God's words, but a bearer of God's heart.
FINAL THOUGHT
God seeks those who do not rush to judge, but strive to see with their hearts. Those who can spot gold amidst ruins, meaning amidst pain, and a soul amidst people. And it is exactly those people that He makes His lips.
HOW TO USE IT TODAY
• When you encounter a difficult person, try to see in them not irritation, but pain that God can heal.
• In a situation that seems hopeless, ask: “Lord, what do You want to teach me here? What valuable thing can I gain?”
• Do not be quick to reject. Sometimes God has hidden a pearl in what seems insignificant.
• Let your words bring peace today, not irritation. Thus, you will become like His mouth.
PRAYER
Lord, teach me to see as You see.
When everything around me seems insignificant, show me that Your precious work is in that. Purify my heart so that my words bring light, not judgment and anger. Help me discern and extract Truth from noise, beauty from brokenness, a beginning where others see an end.
Make me Your mouth, so that I can heal and rekindle dull hearts. Teach me to embrace the hearts of others with kindness and love. I want to be like You. Amen.
