LOVE

JOHN 3:16
“For God so loved the world that he gave His One and Only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life”.

WHAT IS THIS VERSE ABOUT?
This is not just a verse about love. It is a verse about salvation from eternal damnation. After the Fall, humanity was heading toward spiritual death – separation from God. Sin is not just a behavioral error; it is breaking the relationship with the Source of life. And breaking the relationship with God leads to destruction, not temporary, but eternal.
WHAT DOES GOD WANT TO SAY THROUGH THIS VERSE?
“God so loved the world”. God's love is His initiative. It is not man that sought salvation, but it is God that came to save.
“He gave His One and Only Son” – this is the atoning sacrifice. Jesus Christ took upon Himself the punishment that belonged to man for his sins. He died so that man would not perish.
“Whoever believes” – salvation is not given automatically. Yes, it is available to everyone, but it works through faith. The choice remains with the individual.
“Shall not perish, but have eternal life”. Destruction is eternal separation from God. Eternal life is not simply eternity after death. It is a restored relationship with God now and the continuation of this life in the eternity. Without Christ, man is heading toward destruction. With Christ, toward life.
WHY IS IT IMPORTANT?
Many live without thinking about eternity. It seems that everything is limited by this earthly life. But Scripture says: man is created for eternity. And the main question is: with God or without Him.
This verse destroys the illusion that all paths lead to life. There is only one way – through faith in the sacrifice of Jesus Christ.
HOW TO USE IT TODAY
• Recognize that the question of eternity concerns you personally.
• Believe in the atoning sacrifice of Jesus Christ as the only way of salvation.
• Make a decision to entrust Him with your life.
• Live not as if eternity does not exist, but as if it has already begun.
CONCLUSION
John 3:16 is the heart of the entire Gospel. God has done everything necessary for man's salvation. Now the choice is up to each individual.
FINAL THOUGHT
The Cross is the culmination of God's love. Not words, not philosophy, not emotions, but a great sacrifice.
If God gave His Son, then the price of death was real. And if Christ rose, then eternal life is not an image, but truth. God's love is unconditional, but salvation is received by faith.
PRAYER
Lord Jesus, I believe that You died for my sins and rose again for my justification. I thank You for Your great sacrifice, salvation, and Your unconditional love and mercy. Forgive me for all my sins, conscious and unconscious. Help me live in truth and act as You would act. Amen.
