WISDOM

PROVERBS 26:4
“Do not answer a fool according to his folly, or you yourself will be just like him”.

WHAT IS THIS VERSE ABOUT?
This verse speaks of wisdom in communication and of the boundaries it is important to know how to set.
Solomon warns: not every conversation is worth maintaining and not every challenge should be answered. “Folly” here is not a lack of intelligence, but a state of the heart: stubbornness, mockery, pride, and an unwillingness to hear the truth. By responding in the same way, a person imperceptibly descends to the same level.
WHAT DOES GOD WANT TO SAY THROUGH THIS VERSE?
1. Not every argument brings benefit and truth.
2. The manner of the response is more important than the answer itself.
3. Being involved in pointless arguments destroys inner peace.
WHY IS IT IMPORTANT?
We live in a world where we are provoked: in conversations, comments, arguments, on social media.
Responding harshly may seem justified, but Scripture teaches that reacting can make us similar to those with whom we are arguing. Stupidity is contagious if you become involved in it.
HOW TO USE IT TODAY
• Before responding, ask yourself: will this conversation be fruitful?
• Do not let emotions control your reaction.
• Learn to distinguish when it is necessary to speak and when it is better to remain silent.
• Take care of your heart and inner peace.
CONCLUSION
Wisdom is not always the ability to answer, sometimes it is the ability to remain silent and maintain peace in the heart.
FINAL THOUGHT
You do not have to respond to every attack. Your silence sometimes speaks louder than any words.
PRAYER
Lord, I thank You that Your Word guides me on the path of truth. Grant me the wisdom to discern when to speak and when to remain silent. Teach me not to repay evil with evil and not to descend to foolishness.
Keep my heart pure and my tongue undefiled. Remove irritability and anger from me. May my words and reactions reflect Your truth and peace. Amen.
