LOVE

JOHN 17:21–22
That they all may be one, as You, Father, are in Me, and I in You; that they also may be one in Us, that the world may believe that You sent Me.
And the glory which You gave Me I have given them, that they may be one just as We are one.

WHAT IS THIS VERSE ABOUT?
This is part of Jesus' prayer to God the Father before His crucifixion. Christ prays not only for the disciples who were with Him, but also for all people who will ever believe in Him.
The main idea of this prayer is the unity of people with God and with each other.
WHAT DOES GOD WANT TO SAY THROUGH THIS VERSE?
“That they all may be one” – Jesus is not speaking of an external unification of people, nor of a formal organization, nor of identical views on everything. He is speaking of an internal spiritual unity that is born from a relationship with God.
“As You, Father, are in Me, and I in You” – this is an image of the perfect unity between God the Father and the Son. Jesus shows that people are called to enter into a relationship with God in which closeness, trust, and love emerge.
“That the world may believe” – the unity of believers becomes a testimony to others. When people live in love, peace, and mutual respect, it reveals the reality of God to the world.
“And the glory which You gave Me I have given them” – Christ speaks of the new life that God gives to man. This is not external glory, but God's presence, which changes and fills the heart.
WHY IS IT IMPORTANT?
The human world is full of division: conflicts, rivalry, pride, and misunderstanding.
Jesus shows a different way – unity based on God's love. When a person comes to God, their heart begins to change. And then comes the ability to build relationships not on selfishness, but on love.
HOW TO USE IT TODAY
• Strive for a relationship with God – it is the foundation of true unity.
• Learn to treat people with patience and love.
• Avoid pride and the desire to put yourself above others.
• Remember that God's love can be revealed through relationships between people.
CONCLUSION
Jesus desires that people who believe in Him be united with God and with each other through love and truth.
FINAL THOUGHT
True unity cannot be created by human effort alone. It is born
when people are united with God and allow His love to change their hearts. Such unity becomes a living testimony that God is truly acting in the world.
PRAYER
Lord, unite my heart with You and teach me to live in love for people. Cleanse me from pride and division. May Your love create peace and unity in my life and around me.
Amen.
