WISDOM

PROVERBS 29:25
“The fear of man lays a snare, but whoever trusts in the Lord is safe”.

WHAT IS THIS VERSE ABOUT?
The wisest King Solomon speaks of an inner choice that determines the direction of a person's entire life. Fear of people is a dependence on their opinions, approval, and reactions. It looks like caution, but in reality, it becomes a trap that limits freedom and distorts decisions. In contrast to this, trust in the Lord brings inner security: peace, stability, and the freedom to live in truth.
WHAT DOES GOD WANT TO SAY THROUGH THIS VERSE?
1. Fear of people deprives a person of freedom and makes them dependent on circumstances.
2. Trust in the Lord frees one from the pressure of other people's opinions and provides a solid foundation for life and the right choice.
3. It is impossible to simultaneously fear people and truly trust God – one will always choose only one source of support.
WHY IS IT IMPORTANT?
Many decisions are made not out of faith, but out of fear: fear of condemnation, fear of being misunderstood,
fear of losing approval or something else. But it is exactly this kind of fear that becomes a snare that prevents a person from following God and living in truth.
HOW TO USE IT TODAY
• Ask yourself: whose opinions influence my decisions more – other people’s or God's?
• Notice where fear replaces trust in the Lord.
• Choose to obey God, even if it is inconvenient or unpopular.
• Strengthen your faith through God's Word and prayer.
CONCLUSION
Fear of people promises protection, but leads to captivity. Hope for the Lord may seem risky, but it is this that brings true security and freedom.
FINAL THOUGHT
It is not the one who is approved by people that is free, but the one who trusts God more than human opinion.
PRAYER
Lord, forgive me for the moments when I feared people more than I trusted You. Free my heart from dependence on the opinions of others. Teach me to trust in You and seek Your will above anything else. Grant me the courage to live in truth and the security that comes from trusting You. Amen.
