1 TIMOTHY 2:5 “For there is one God and one mediator between God and mankind, the man Christ Jesus”.
WHAT IS THIS VERSE ABOUT? This verse says that God has only one true way for man to come to Him – Jesus. He became human in order to redeem us from sin and restore our lost connection with God. WHAT DOES GOD WANT TO SAY THROUGH THIS VERSE? 1. There is no need to search for many different paths. There is only one true way – Christ. 2. Direct connection with God. You do not need intermediaries in the form of special rites, rituals, or people. 3. Jesus understands you. He himself was a man of flesh and knows what pain, joy, fear, temptation, and hope are. WHY IS IT IMPORTANT? We often think that God is “far away”, or that we need to become “perfect” to approach Him, or that special buildings or rituals are needed. This verse says: no, Christ has already done everything so that we can communicate with God freely and directly. HOW TO USE IT TODAY • Address God in prayer in your own words. There is no need for memorized texts or special rites or rituals. • If you feel guilty or ashamed, remember: through Jesus, a path to forgiveness is open to you. Simply and sincerely ask for forgiveness. • When times are difficult, talk to Jesus as you would to a close friend. Christ will always understand you. • Do not build “barriers” between yourself and God – do not think you need a third party or special rites and conditions. You have Christ – He is the Way, the Truth, and the Life. CONCLUSION God is near. Jesus is your bridge to Him. He has done everything so that you can come to the Father freely and without fear. FINAL THOUGHT God is not somewhere far away, and you do not need to look for difficult paths. Simply go to Him through Jesus – it is the most direct and right path. PRAYER Lord, I thank You for not leaving me alone with my mistakes and weaknesses. Thank You for sending Jesus Christ, Who atoned for our sins and made us united with You. I acknowledge that I cannot reach You on my own. But through Jesus, I have a direct path to You. Fill my heart with the faith that I am accepted by You, and that at any moment I can turn to You directly at any moment – with my joy, pain, questions, gratitude, forgiveness, petition, and hope. Amen.
