LOVE

JOHN 14:16–17
“And I will ask the Father, and He will give you another Comforter to help you and be with you forever –
the Spirit of truth. The world cannot accept Him, because it neither sees Him nor knows Him. But you know Him, for He lives with you and will be in you”.

WHAT IS THIS VERSE ABOUT?
Jesus speaks these words to the disciples before leaving (to be crucified and ascended).
The disciples are worried: they are used to Jesus being nearby, always guiding and helping. And Christ gives them an unexpected promise: you will not be alone.
WHAT DOES GOD WANT TO SAY THROUGH THIS VERSE?
“He will give you another Comforter” – the word “Comforter” does not simply mean one who comforts,
but One Who:
— supports
— guides
— helps
— protects
This refers to the Holy Spirit – God's presence.
“And be with you forever” – unlike temporary things, God's presence does not go away. It is God's constant closeness with man.
“The Spirit of truth” – He helps man understand the truth, distinguish right from wrong, and see deeper than mere external things.
“The world cannot accept Him” – not because God is closed, but because a person can be closed to Him. If a person does not seek God, they simply do not recognize His presence.
“Will be in you” – that is the most powerful thought. God is not just nearby. He wants to be inside you.
WHY IS IT IMPORTANT?
Many people feel lonely, even when they are among other people. Jesus says: with God, a person is never alone. This is not just an idea, but a reality – God can live in a person and be with them in any situation.
HOW TO USE IT TODAY
• Do not think you are alone. God is near and wants to be in your life.
• Open your heart to God through simple, sincere prayer.
• Learn to listen to the inner voice that leads to goodness and truth.
• Begin to build a personal relationship with God, not just know about Him.
• Trust God with everything in everyday life – not just at difficult moments.
CONCLUSION
God does not abandon man – He comes to live in his heart through the Holy Spirit.
FINAL THOUGHT
A person may seek support from the outside, but the strongest support is inside, when God is near and in the heart. Jesus did not simply leave – He made God even closer to man.
PRAYER
Lord, thank you for such words of comfort and encouragement. I do not want to be alone. Fill my heart with Your presence and lead me along the path of truth, teach me to distinguish good from evil and truth from deception. Amen.
