PSALM 31:1
“Blessed are they whose lawless acts are forgiven, whose sins are covered!”
WHAT IS THIS VERSE ABOUT?
David wrote this psalm after deep inner repentance. He speaks of the happiness of a person who has received forgiveness from God. Interestingly, David calls blessed — truly happy — not the rich, successful, or powerful, but the one whose sin has been forgiven by God.
Because there is no heavier burden than the guilt inside one’s heart. On the outside, a person can smile, build a life, achieve something, but if inside there is a constant feeling of guilt, fear, emptiness, or hidden pain, the soul still lacks true peace.
