WHAT IS THIS VERSE ABOUT?

WHAT DOES GOD WANT TO SAY THROUGH THIS VERSE?
Jesus begins with emphasis: “very truly” — this means: pay close attention, here lies the key truth.
“The one who believes in Me" — in the original sense, this is not simply agreement or knowledge; it is about complete trust and connection. Not simply “I believe that You exist”, but I rely on You, I accept You as the foundation and the path of life, and build my life with You in mind. This is inner dependence on Christ, not external religiosity.
“Has eternal life” — the key depth here. In the word “has”. Not “will receive later”, but already has now. And in the biblical understanding, eternal life is not simply infinity, but a close relationship with God, coming to know Him. Without this, a person can exist temporarily, but not have eternal life. Jesus essentially says: life is not in you, life is in Me, and through trust you enter it.
WHY IS IT IMPORTANT?
By nature, man seeks meaning in life: in achievements, in relationships, in fulfillment. But all of this is limited. And even when a person finds or achieves something, they find it insufficient. Why? Because the source is sought in the wrong place.
This verse reveals a radical essence: eternal life is not created by man and his actions — it is received by faith and through a connection with God. Therefore, the question is not how successful or righteous a person is, but whether they are connected to the source of life.
HOW TO USE IT TODAY
• Ask yourself a question: is my faith knowledge or real trust and confidence?
• Look at what you rely on in your life and what drives you.
• Begin to trust and consult with God in life's decisions.
• Stop seeking the fullness of life only within yourself and begin to seek a close relationship with God.
